Original Penguin Brand Ambassador captures New Orleans Zurich Classic
Original Penguin Golf brand ambassador Cameron Smith won the 2021 Zurich Classic in New Orleans with partner Marc Leishman for his third PGA Tour victory.
“We congratulate Cameron for casting the winning putt and another thrilling playoff victory,” said Oscar Feldenkreis, President and CEO of Perry Ellis International. “With three victories on tour, all in the playoffs, Cameron has solidified his position as an international star and one who lives up to the pressure. We are proud to have Cameron as our Original Penguin Brand Ambassador. “
“It was a really cool week and we played some really solid golf,” said Smith. “The back nine was difficult, but we held on and succeeded.” With this victory, Smith, a key member of former International Presidents Cup teams, propels to third place in the FedExCup rankings, secures his TOUR card during the 2022/23 season, earns a spot in the 2021 PGA Championship and a place in the 2022 Sentry Tournament of Champions, while positioning itself well for Olympic qualification. “I really want to be over there in Japan and I want to wear green and gold as much as I can,” Smith added.
Smth wore the brand’s Spring 2021 collection during the tournament with its Re-Originals eco-friendly polo shirts made from 30% recycled polyester.
